Szent Szív Társaság
Isten hozta a Sacré Coeur nővérek
We are an international, Roman Catholic order of sisters with papal authority working in the spirit of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Our congregation was founded by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat in Paris in 1800. The order is abbreviated as: RSCJ (Religieuses du Sacré Coeur de Jesu). Today, nearly 2000 Sacré Coeur sisters live and work in 41 countries on five continents. The order is based in Rome. We have two communities in Hungary, both located in Budapest; noviciate takes place in Lyon, France. At an international level, our Society takes part in the mission of the church through the service of education, which is conducted in three areas: through school education, with a commitment towards the poor and spiritual-pastoral ministry.
Over the past ten years, we have committed ourselves in Hungary to guidelines which, in our experience, contribute to the renewal of spiritual life of our country. These primarily serve to deepen spiritual life and help young people find their way. The ‘Forrás’ Spiritual Centre in Budapest offers a very wide range of spiritual programmes: dance meditation, contemplative prayer group and spiritual exercise, individually directed Saint Ignatius spiritual exercise, contemplation in the city, communication, Blessed Sacrament on the first Friday of the month, Bible camp for children, individual spiritual guidance etc. As part of projects run together with the Jesuits, we deal with young people and those who are yearning for a high level of spirituality, and – although only to a limited extent – we are available for the disadvantaged and elderly as well.
„I am the vine and you are the branches.”
